BUSHFIRE ATTACK LEVEL (BAL) REPORT
Euca Planning provides site assessment to identify the Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) of your development. The BAL is the system that measures a dwelling’s level of potential exposure to direct flame, ember and radiant heat contact. The severity is measured in six levels as outlined in AS3959-2018, ranging from BAL-LOW to BAL-FZ. The higher the severity of the BAL determined for a dwelling, the more costly it is to build.
You need a BAL report if you are:
Building a single dwelling
Extending an existing dwelling
Building a shed, carport or deck
Planning a multi-dwelling development
Euca Planning will:
Conduct a detailed assessment of the site, including the surrounding landscape in compliance with (AS3959-2018) Construction of buildings in bushfire-prone areas
Use Method 1 of AS3959-2018 to analyse bushfire risk to the proposed development
Use Method 2 of AS3959-2018 for complex developments
